Create realistic art work using acrylic painting techniques. Explore a more traditional approach to painting from start to finish. You will learn how to paint step by step in stages to give your subjects that 3D look, mastering highlights, shadows and textures. Gloss or matt varnish will be applied on the finished product. Suitable for all levels of experience. Materials cost approximately $70 and need to be purchased by student prior to class.
Victoria Lowery MA VisArt, GradDipEdSec has been teaching at WEA since April 2011.
Victoria is passionate about the creative process, and has been drawing, painting, working with textiles and designing from an early age, influenced by her father who was an artist and graphic designer.
Victoria emigrated from Ukraine as an established artist and graduate of L’viv National Academy of Arts, and came to South Australia in 2011 after living and exhibiting her artwork in Austin, Texas in the United States for two years.
While teaching at the WEA, Victoria completed a Master’s Degree in Visual Art and Design and Illustration and later, a Diploma in Secondary Education at UniSA.
Victoria teaches a range of WEA art and craft courses including acrylic and watercolour painting, drawing, textiles and fibre design.
