Auslan, or Australian Sign Language, has its own vocabulary and grammar. A uniquely Australian language, that is used in every day social, work and school situations.
For complete beginners and those with a little knowledge (ie have completed a WEA Languages for Fun and Travel or Chinese Mandarin Conversation). This course will introduce students to basic Chinese character writing as well as Pin Yin, with conversational practice. Digressions into culture will bring the language alive for you. There is a break between each term. Textbook required: New Practical Chinese Reader 1 3rd Edition. Chapter 1-5.
