Anxiety affects millions of people but what is it exactly? Get to know anxiety inside-out and learn how to tackle the mother of them all - existential anxiety (identity, isolation, death, freedom and meaning). By the end of COMPASS, you'll discern signal from noise and learn how to let your unlived life speak on the modern hero's journey. Fee includes book.
Course Description
Anxiety grips millions in modern life. We try to manage it, avoid it, suppress it or medicate it – yet it continues to return. Fear rises, uncertainty grows, and we often find ourselves caught between who we are and who we feel we should be. But what if anxiety isn’t something to fear? What if it’s pointing to something essential?
This course takes a radical view: anxiety is a signal from the unlived life. It acts like an inner alarm system, firing when the life you’re living drifts away from the life you’re meant to grow into. Anxiety exposes the protective strategies you built long ago – avoidance, perfectionism, overthinking, people‑pleasing. These patterns once kept you safe, but now typically keep you small. Drawing on depth psychology, neuroscience and real‑life stories, anxiety helps you untangle the outer pressures of modern life and your personal past from the voice of the unlived life within.
This course is Door Two of the Meaning Path – where anxiety becomes a compass of individuation pointing toward the unlived life. Across four movements of individuation, you’ll explore the different types of anxiety, including the mother of them all – existential anxiety – and the Big 5 life issues (Identity, Isolation, Death, Freedom and Meaning). Anxiety becomes a pathway back to your courageous and emerging self.

Course Structure
This Unlived Life course combines short presentations with discussion, reflection and practical exploration. Depth psychology is a branch of psychology that explores the unconscious mind and how hidden thoughts, fears, and memories shape everyday behaviour, choices and relationships. From this perspective, anxiety and burnout (emotional exhaustion) are not disorders but signals that the unlived life is demanding change.
“Anxiety is not merely something negative; it is also the voice of the unlived life within us.” – Carl Jung
This Unlived Life COMPASS course is based on the book Anxiety as a Teacher: Let Your Unlived Life Speak written by the tutor and included in the course fee. Blending real-life stories, practical insights and the occasional knock-knock dialogue, the Meaning Path Series explores the concept of individuation and leads you back to the unlived life. 3 Doors. 1 Path. The Unlived Life – start anywhere.
