Your Tutor is Isha Chatterjee

Isha Chatterjee has been teaching at WEA since October 2024.

Isha Chatterjee is a ceramicist and basket weaver based in the Adelaide Hills, where the surrounding natural landscape serves as a constant source of inspiration for her work. Her practice is deeply rooted in the tactile, meditative processes of hand-building pottery and traditional basket weaving, both of which emphasize slowing down, craftsmanship, and embracing the beauty of imperfection.

In her creations, Isha explores the intersection of form, function, and sustainability, producing small-batch ceramics and woven baskets designed to enhance everyday rituals. Whether crafting a hand-built stoneware mug or a coiled raffia basket, each piece embodies the imprint of time, touch, and tradition.

In addition to her studio practice, Isha is passionate about sharing her craft through workshops. These hands-on experiences in hand-building pottery and basket weaving invite participants to connect with natural materials and rediscover the joy of making.
