Have you always wanted to try oil painting but didn't know where to begin?This course is designed to help build your confidence using this wonderful medium. You will be introduced to materials and colour mixing, as well as techniques to create form in a realistic way. Learn techniques such as underpainting, alla prima, glazing and wet on wet painting.Materials cost approximately $100 and are to be purchased by the student prior to commencing the class.

Gretta Allen is an artist and educator with over 25 years’ experience working across a range of creative fields, including fine art, photography and illustration. She has been a finalist in several national art prizes, and her work is held in collections across Australia and internationally.

Alongside her teaching at WEA, Gretta delivers regular classes and community workshops in painting and drawing. Her diverse artistic practice reflects a deep passion for creative expression and a strong commitment to making art accessible, engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
