Designed for those who have completed the introduction to drawing course, this class will help you to continue to develop essential observational and technical skills while encouraging experimentation and self expression. Explore a range of drawing approaches that strengthen accuracy and confidence across a variety of subjects. There will be some time spent working at standing easels for this class so please take this into consideration when enrolling for this course.

Gretta Allen has been teaching at WEA since 2023.

Gretta Allen is an artist and educator with over 25 years’ experience working across a range of creative fields, including fine art, photography and illustration. She has been a finalist in several national art prizes, and her work is held in collections across Australia and internationally.

Alongside her teaching at WEA, Gretta delivers regular classes and community workshops in painting and drawing. Her diverse artistic practice reflects a deep passion for creative expression and a strong commitment to making art accessible, engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
