In this course you will learn the fundamental skills to start drawing with confidence. Students will explore materials and techniques such as mark making, proportions, tone, measurement, and perspective, and learn simple approaches to successfully drawing subjects such as still life, animals and portraiture. Materials cost approximately $50 and are to be purchased by the students prior to the class.

Gretta Allen is an artist and educator with over 25 years’ experience working across a range of creative fields, including fine art, photography and illustration. She has been a finalist in several national art prizes, and her work is held in collections across Australia and internationally.

Alongside her teaching at WEA, Gretta delivers regular classes and community workshops in painting and drawing. Her diverse artistic practice reflects a deep passion for creative expression and a strong commitment to making art accessible, engaging and enjoyable for everyone.
