Your tutor is Peter Morey

Peter Morey is an instrumental music teacher who has been a tutor at the WEA for over 25 years, teaching his popular course ‘Start Playing Keyboard’. He also teaches piano, keyboard, guitar, ukulele and music theory to students at multiple southern suburbs schools.

Peter’s background was in classical piano, sitting AMEB exams while at school, then later studying at Kingston Park TAFE (Commercial Music) and the University of Adelaide (Jazz). He has been an active participant in the Adelaide music scene over the last 30 years, playing in blues and jazz bands ‘The Houserockers’, ‘One o’clock Jump’, ‘Scudoo’ and ‘The Confessors’. For the past two years he has also been engaged as the keyboard player for the Southern Primary Schools’ Festival of Music concert band. 

Many years’ experiences gained from teaching students of all ages and playing levels, has given Peter the skills and the patience to help students to find joy and excitement in music, regardless of experience, aptitude, or other challenges, and supporting individuals of all abilities. Peter has been a member of the Music Teachers’ Association of SA since 2004 and holds the required approvals for working with children.
