Course Description

Spanish 1 is a year-long beginner course that introduces students to the Spanish language in a supportive and engaging environment.

Designed for those with little or no prior experience, the course covers essential vocabulary, foundational grammar, and practical communication skills used in everyday situations.

Emphasis is placed on pronunciation, comprehension, and developing confidence in speaking, reading, and writing.

Through interactive lessons, audiovisual tools, and cultural insights, students will gain the tools they need to begin using Spanish in real-world contexts.

Beyond language mechanics, this course highlights the broader value of learning Spanish.

With over 460 million native speakers worldwide, Spanish is the second most spoken language globally.

It offers personal enrichment, enhanced travel experiences, and valuable career advantages in fields like healthcare, business, education, and tourism.

The course uses a structured textbook (required for purchase) with digital audio and video resources to support learning both in and outside the classroom.

Regular homework and classroom interaction help reinforce understanding and build language skills progressively over time.

Over the course of the year, students will be guided through a structured and cumulative program that builds gradually on vocabulary, grammar, listening, speaking, and cultural awareness.

Each class introduces new content while reinforcing previous material through practice and revision.
