A further year of language for those who have completed French 7 at the WEA. Textbooks required: Alter Ego A2 and later in the year Alter Ego B1. There is a short break between terms.
French A2 Consolidation
Course Description
This course is designed for intermediate-level students who wish to consolidate their understanding of French grammar, vocabulary, and conjugation while building greater confidence in their communication skills.
Ideal for those who have completed the A2 level or who feel they need additional time to reinforce their knowledge before progressing further, this course offers a more relaxed pace that allows for in-depth revision and practical application.
Students will work through the final sections of the Alter Ego A2 textbook and begin exploring Alter Ego B1, strengthening their language foundations while gradually stepping into more advanced material.
With a focus on everyday communication, structured grammar review, and vocabulary expansion, students will enhance all four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
The course encourages regular practice through dialogues, interactive exercises, and cultural content, helping learners consolidate what they’ve already learned and confidently build on it.
This is a great opportunity to pause, review, and prepare for the transition into B1-level French in a supportive classroom environment.
Course Structure
The course follows a structured yet flexible format, revisiting core grammar topics such as verb conjugations, tenses, pronouns, and sentence construction, while expanding vocabulary relevant to daily life and cultural contexts.
Students will complete the Alter Ego A2 textbook and workbook in the first half of the year, with frequent reinforcement through speaking and writing activities.
In the second half of the year, the class will gradually begin Alter Ego B1, carefully introducing new concepts while continuing to review A2-level material.
Regular listening and reading comprehension activities, small group discussions, and grammar drills will ensure a well-rounded, engaging learning experience.
Course Learning Outcomes
