Course Description
Discover the rejuvenating power of Facial Gua Sha, an ancient Chinese self-massage technique designed to smooth, lift, and sculpt the face.
In this calming and practical workshop, you'll learn how to work with meridian lines, acupressure points, and the body's natural circulatory and lymphatic systems to enhance your skin’s vitality and appearance.
With guided instruction, you’ll practise step-by-step techniques to reduce puffiness, soften fine lines, boost circulation, and reconnect with your natural glow, all using your own hands and a Gua Sha tool.
No prior experience is required, and the workshop is suitable for all skin types. Please note that this class is not suitable if you have skin rashes, pustules or open wounds.
This hands-on class includes a guided cleansing ritual, hand massage techniques, and focused instruction on using a Gua Sha tool correctly and safely.
All tools are provided for in-class use (or you may bring your own). The tutor will provide samples of facial oil for you to try. Facial oil is also available for purchase from the tutor for $20 (or you may bring your own).
Each student will be individually supported to refine their technique and gain confidence in performing their own facial massage at home. Come with a clean face, or allow the class ritual to prepare your skin, and leave with a refreshed sense of well-being and a new self-care practice to integrate into your routine.
Course Structure
The session begins with a gentle introduction to the history and benefits of Facial Gua Sha, followed by a step-by-step cleansing ritual to prepare the skin.
Students will then be guided through a soothing hand massage to connect with the flow of energy in the body.
Next, the tutor will demonstrate proper Gua Sha techniques, including how to hold and angle the tool, how to work with facial contours, and how to apply safe and effective pressure.
Each student will use a Gua Sha tool to follow along, practising on their own face with support and individual correction as needed.
The session also includes tips on selecting facial oils, understanding pressure points, and establishing a home routine.
The class also incorporates plenty of time for discussion, questions, and reflection.
