Your Tutor is Matthew Newland

Matthew Newland started teaching at WEA in 2025. 

Matthew is a Bachelor of Arts, University of Adelaide – Majoring in Music and History. He has also received a Diploma in Performing Arts (Jazz Studies – Guitar)

Matthew Newland is an experienced music educator with a strong background in both guitar and banjo instruction. He has taught guitar for many years and has recently expanded his expertise to include the banjo.

Currently, Matthew serves as a tutor at WEA, where he conducts an introductory course on banjo playing. 

His deep knowledge of music history and performance, combined with his passion for teaching, allows him to provide engaging and comprehensive lessons for students of all levels.
