Crochet for Beginners

Course Description

If you’re ready to learn the relaxing and creative craft of crochet, this course is the perfect place to start.

In this welcoming and supportive class, you’ll learn how to hold your hook and yarn, cast on, count stitches, and build confidence as you work through the basics.

You'll be introduced to a variety of essential stitches, and you'll practice reading both written patterns and diagrams.

Whether you're right- or left-handed, you'll receive guidance tailored to your learning style.

The course begins with a stitch sampler, allowing you to try out different crochet techniques, from chain stitches to trebles.

Once you’re comfortable, you’ll choose a small project to start on your own – anything from a simple scarf to a set of granny squares.

You’ll also learn fun extras like how to make a crochet flower. Bring your own materials and get ready to create something beautiful with just a hook and some yarn!

Course Structure

Each class combines live demonstrations, individual guidance, and time for hands-on practice.

You'll start by learning how to hold the hook and yarn correctly, then move on to foundation stitches and simple techniques like increasing and decreasing.

As your skills grow, you'll follow along with written instructions and diagrams, gradually building up a stitch sampler.

Once you're confident, you’ll begin your own project, with your tutor on hand to help troubleshoot and guide you at every step.

Notes and discussion time are included each week to help reinforce your learning and share ideas.
