This course looks at the Chios Massacre of 1822, where 100,000 inhabitants of the Greek island of Chios were killed, enslaved or displaced. The Massacre took place during the Greek War of Independence. Many of those that survived emigrated as refugees to as far as London, where they established communities and excelled. This course explores their stories.
